Tarragona · Opening 2027

A place to work, and to stop working alone.

Two hundred and fifty square metres across two floors, right by the Sescelades campus. Desks for people who need one every day and for people who drop in on a Tuesday, meeting rooms, a bar, and a room that turns into a classroom, a talk or a demo depending on the evening.

Who it's for

You don't need to be founding a startup to sit here.

This is a place of work for people in Tarragona who make things. Some of us are founders or engineers, and that doesn't make anyone else surplus, quite the opposite, because the interesting part happens when the same table holds someone building a company, someone doing research and someone who has been at their trade for fifteen years.

You work for yourself

Freelancers, consultants, designers, translators, architects, bookkeepers. If you have spent two years working at the kitchen table, this is for you.

You work remotely

Your company is in Barcelona, Madrid or Berlin and you live here. Bring your laptop and stop being the only person on your street working in pyjamas.

You are building something

On your own or with two co-founders, with a product or still with an idea. Here you have people to test it on and people to ask.

You are a small team

Two to six people who don't want to sign a five year office lease or pay for a receptionist. There is a bookable area for you.

You are leaving university

The campus is next door, with engineering, chemistry, oenology, and education and psychology. If you stay in Tarragona to build something, this is your place.

You are passing through

A single day, a client meeting or a room to present in. You don't have to be a member to use the space.

The space

One floor to concentrate on, one floor for things to happen.

The building is built around the two speeds of anyone working for themselves. Some days you close the door and get work out, and some days what you need is to talk to somebody.

Upper floor · 116 m²

The working floor

Fixed desks, two bookable meeting rooms, a phone booth and lockers. Upstairs people keep their voices down. It is the floor you take when what you need is to sit and make progress uninterrupted, and the one you use when the important call comes.

Ground floor · 134 m²

The social floor

Flexible desks, an internal bar, sofas under the double height ceiling and a quiet area at the back for anyone who needs silence with life going on five metres away. In the evening it turns into a classroom, a talk or a demo without having to move half the building.

A day here

This is what we want an ordinary Tuesday to look like.

We don't open until 2027, so this is the intention and not a report. But it is exactly the place we are building.

7:00

App access opens. The first ones in are always the same people, coffee from the bar and two good hours before the world wakes up.

9:30

The upper floor is full and quiet. Downstairs someone has taken the long table and there is a client meeting in the small room.

13:30

The kitchen fills up. This is where half of what makes this worthwhile happens, which is finding out what the person next to you does and ending up helping them.

16:00

A two hour workshop on the ground floor. Fifteen people, one specific subject and someone who knows more about it than you do.

19:00

The desks get cleared and the chairs go out. A talk, a project demo or simply beer and people. Sometimes all three.

23:00

Lights out. Tomorrow, again.

What happens here

Anyone can rent you a desk. The hard part to build is everything else.

A coworking space without a programme is an office full of strangers. The part that actually justifies coming in is what happens once the working day ends, and that has to be organised. This is what we want in place from the first quarter.

  • Talks. Someone who has done something difficult comes to explain how, including the part that went wrong.
  • Hands-on workshops. Two hours, one subject, and you leave able to do something you couldn't do before.
  • Project nights. You show what you are building to people who will tell you the truth about it.
  • Lunches. One a month, long table, no agenda. The one that works best and the cheapest to organise.
  • Courses. Short programmes with limited places, open to non-members too.
  • Rooms for your own thing. If you want to run your own event, the room is available to hire.

Why here

Next to the campus, with a real company working inside.

We are at the foot of the Sescelades campus, where Rovira i Virgili University has its two engineering schools, the faculties of chemistry and oenology and the faculty of education and psychology, along with the research centres around them. A lot of people pass through here training in very different things, and almost none of them stay in Tarragona, for want of somewhere to meet.

And there is one difference from any institutional incubator: there is a real company working in this building every day, with its clients, its hiring and its emergencies. That changes the feel of a room. This is not a space waiting for somebody to fill it.

We are still building. Join the list and you join on founder terms.

No commitment and nothing to pay. We write to you when there is a date, we show you the space before anyone else and you reserve a spot on launch terms. If you like, tell us what you would need, because there is still time to change it.
